The α Azieru is an experimental mobile armor developed by the Neo Zeon Newtype Research Labs, and for its time, it was one of the largest and most powerful mobile weapons ever developed. It is the direct descendant of the AMX-002 Neue Ziel fielded during the Delaz conflict and can be said to be the culmination of Zeon's Newtype-use technologies.

The powerful mobile armor enters combat on the last day of the Second Neo Zeon War, piloted by artificial strengthened Newtype Quess Paraya. The mentally unstable Quess under the guidance of cyber-Newtype Gyunei Guss, fights against the Londo Bell forces and destroys many of them.

During the Principality of Zeon's race to develop a superior fighting machine, four prototype mobile suits were developed from different engineering companies: one of these was Zimmad's EMS-04 Zudah. It had a good power plant with unprecedented thrust and acceleration. It also adopted a prototype engine known as the Jupiter engine which was based on Zimmad's prototype Mercury engine. However, the suit did have limits: if the engines were overexerted, the suit would overload and break apart. Zeonic Company used this information to outdo the Zudah with their well-known YMS-05 Zaku and successfully marketed the Zaku series.

This, however, was not the end of the story. The Zudah was resurrected under the model number EMS-10, with some minor improvements and cosmetic differences. However, despite these improvements, the suit was still prone to breaking apart from overexertion.

During the latter months of the One Year War, four of these improved Zudahs were issued to the 603rd Technical Evaluation Unit. They were the subject of an extensive Zeon propaganda campaign claiming that these were new "secret weapons" that would demolish the Federation's mobile suits and lead Zeon to victory rather than hastily refitted 3-year-old prototypes.

However, during a subsequent maneuverability test conducted with a Musai-class cruiser, a Zudah and its test pilot, 1st Lieutenant Otchinan Shell, were lost due to the supposedly corrected engine overload error. Soon afterward, the Earth Federation learned the true nature of the Zudah as a propaganda tool. As a result, the intimidation factor the Zudah once possessed was lost.

On the second operation, the three remaining Zudahs would be piloted by three skilled Zeon pilots, Jean-Luc Duvall, Hideto Washiya, and Monique Cadillac, to help defend the Odessa forces that managed to escape to outer space (most MS that were stationed in Odessa were ground-based and lacked the equipment to maneuver or fight in space). While they managed to destroy all of the attacking Federation units and proved their worth by outmaneuvering and destroying the pursuing GMs during an extended fight, Duvall's Zudah was also destroyed by overload. In a sort of cosmic joke, the GMs suffered the same fate as the overloaded Zudah, torn apart by the forces exerted on them due to their speed. The remaining two Zudahs were kept on board of the Jotunheim for defense

Built under the Pezun Project at Zeon's Pezun space asteroid base, the Action Zaku was planned to be a new mass-production model mobile suit that the Zeon would field to sway the tides of war back into their favor. The Action Zaku was the testbed for the new "magnetic coating" technology developed by the Zeonic Company. The special magnetic coating materials were applied to the joints of the Action Zaku, which could be electrically charged to produce a magnetic field. This field caused the components of the joints to repel one another, reducing the friction caused by the joint movement to almost nothing, creating a faster and much more responsive mobile suit.

The First Prototype Action Zaku (YMS-11-0) was prepared hastily for technical evaluation, thus some components still haven't completed in development, such as Shoulder design and Backpack thruster. Furthermore, even though this prototype designed with a much higher output reactor, allowing it to wield beam weaponry. the design for Beam weapon was not completed yet. To anticipate it, they use Beam Bazooka that already produced for Dom type MS.

With all the hastily and uncompleted parts development, Prototype Action Zaku still performed excellently, Even excellent enough For Admiral Kycilia Zabi to issues a special squad of YMS-11 Action Zaku based on this Prototype. However, they change the unstable experimental backpack with an ordinary Zaku II C5 backpack.

MS-07B GOUF

The MS-07B Gouf featured a focused design intended for Earth-based, close-quarter MS combat. It featured much-improved mobility with a powerful backpack and leg-mounted thrusters for jet-assisted jumps.

The Gouf easily outstripped the Zaku II in terms of speed, power output, and melee combat ability. But the mobile suit's overall performance was not great enough to be justified by its increased cost. The Gouf's production was cut short by the development of a more cost efficient unit, the more powerful and nimble MS-09B Dom. Despite its very short production run, it was still deployed across the world alongside Zakus and Doms.

One notable performance by Gouf proved by a Zeon pilot, Lieutenant Ramba Ral, played havoc with the Pegasus-Class Assault Carrier White Base and RX-78-2 Gundam

The YMS-07B-0 Prototype Gouf Tactical Demonstrator is a prototype mobile suit based on the MS-06F Zaku II with fully revamped armor, propulsion devices, cooling devices, and cockpit layout. Apart from the YMS-07A-0 Prototype Gouf Mobility Demonstrator produced for mobility demonstration, the YMS-07B-0 Prototype Gouf Tactical Demonstrator was created to test newly fixed weaponry. With the right forearm containing a prototype heat rod, while the left contains a 3-barrel Machine Gun.

On U.C. 0079, Two units Gouf Demonstrator prepared for technical evaluation by Zeon top brass. The first unit prepared for demonstrating their Tactical ability and called YMS-07B-0 Gouf Tactical Demonstrator piloted by Ramba Ral as the test pilot. The second unit prepared for demonstrating their mobility on the battlefield and called YMS-07A-0 Gouf Mobility Demonstrator, While the third unit (known for Unit-03)  prepared as the reserve and for cannibalizing the parts if the first two units breakdown or need to replace their parts in the middle of the test.
